Sexism, Bruhs, and Rock n Roll

I was told to shut up so I started a blog. Feminism, INXS, music, philosophy, neurodivergence or whatever.

About Me

My husband calls me an explainer and that is accurate. This blog will be an outlet for me to explain things to my heart’s content. I have been a military spouse for the past thirty years. That will come to an end in 2024 which is the year I turn sixty.

I did not have a career, which is a hazard of being a military spouse, but after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a BS in Economics from Wharton, I didn’t want a career. Not in business. Many people urged me to just get a “real job” and I couldn’t explain why I did not do that. It was only two years ago that I learned more about autism and I saw myself. But I also struggled with the effects of a difficult childhood and a world that was full of misogyny. The world of my youth had improved to the point where I was allowed to be a student athlete and to attend a coeducational university and study subjects that were traditionally the domain of men but equality was still an illusion.

Right now I live in Japan and I have picked a bad time to start a blog as my life is very busy and uncertain. I hope to make a permanent home in New Jersey in 2024. I also do not have a good grip on the technical aspects of starting a blog. I have given up on trying to fix the navigation for now. You can get back to the front page by clicking on the name of my blog.
